Location: Dundee
Company: Abbott
Pay: £14.80
Shift: 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm fortnightly rotation, Monday-Friday
Are you a technical problem-solver with a passion for automation and a commitment to quality excellence? At Abbott Dundee, we are looking for a self-motivated Assembly Technician to act as our Subject Matter Expert (SME) in assembly automation. This is a high-impact role where technical skill meets rigorous quality standards to ensure our life-saving products reach patients safely and efficiently.
The Impact You’ll Make
As a key Individual Contributor within our Assembly Packing Environment, you will be the "go-to" person for automated and semi-automated equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring that every product leaving our facility is packed accurately, on time, and in total alignment with our Quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
*Automation Expertise: Lead the setup, changeover, and troubleshooting of high-tech packing automation. You are the first responder for technical issues before they reach the engineering team.
*Quality & Compliance: Complete Quality Documentation to a high standard, "Right First Time," ensuring total compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
*Precision Operations: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Packing Batch Records (PBRs) to operate equipment within a strictly regulated Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment.
*Continuous Improvement: Use your Six Sigma Yellow Belt skills to lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and contribute to A3/DMAIC projects.
*Data Integrity: Monitor and record real-time OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) data and contribute to the periodic review of validations and Device Master Records (DMRs).
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for a proactive professional who thrives in a regulated environment and enjoys the challenge of technical troubleshooting.
Essential Requirements:
*Experience: Proven experience working within a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environment is essential.
*Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge and application of GDP (Good Documentation Practices).
*Technical Savvy: Hands-on experience with automated and semi-automated assembly equipment; ability to act as a first-line engineering responder.
*Education: National 4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths, or relevant experience within the life sciences or a similarly regulated industry.
*Problem-Solving: Certified at Six Sigma Yellow Belt level with a firm grasp of RCA tools (A3/DMAIC).
*System Fluency: Ability to navigate ERP and Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
