The Opportunity
We’re working with a well-established organisation in Chichester who are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk / Accounts Assistant to support their busy finance team on a short-term contract. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced AP environment and can hit the ground running.
The position offers great exposure within a collaborative finance team, with the potential for extension or future opportunities depending on business needs and performance.
Key Responsibilities
*Processing a high volume of supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
*Matching invoices to purchase orders and receipts
*Checking approvals and ensuring correct GL coding
*Preparing and processing payment runs (BACS / EFT)
*Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice or payment queries
*Responding to supplier and internal finance queries
*Supporting month-end processes relating to Accounts Payable
*Assisting with ad-hoc finance and accounting tasks as required
About You
*Previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Accounts Assistant, or Finance Assistant role
*Comfortable working with invoice processing, payment runs, and reconciliations
*Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
*Confident using Excel and standard finance systems
*Able to work independently while also contributing as part of a team
*Well organised, with good time management skills
*Experience working in a multi-entity environment would be an advantage
Desirable:
*Experience using NetSuite (not essential, training can be provided)
