Walker Cole International is searching for a Intellectual Property (IP) Officer to join a rapidly growing pharmaceutical organisation based in Leicester.
As the Intellectual Property (IP) Officer, you will support the Intellectual Property function in delivering strategic IP insights across international markets, helping to identify risks and opportunities that enable successful product development and launch within the generics space.
Your responsibilities as the Intellectual Property (IP) Officer will be:
*Lead FTO assessments and patent landscape analyses to support R&D, licensing, and product launch decisions while identifying IP risks
*Develop and implement IP strategy, including trademark clearance and portfolio expansion opportunities
*Monitor competitor patents, filings, and regulatory developments to inform strategic positioning
*Support licensing activities, due diligence, and legal proceedings in collaboration with external counsel
*Manage IP tracking systems and partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Regulatory, R&D, and Business teams
To be a successful candidate for the Intellectual Property (IP) Officer role, you will have:
*Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline
*1–3 years’ experience in an IP-related role (in-house or private practice)
*Working knowledge of UK and EU patent and trademark processes
*Strong analytical and organisational skills
