Job Description:
A leading UK-wide distribution business is recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller to join its established finance team based in Preston. This is a key role within a fast-paced environment, focused on proactive cash collection while maintaining strong customer relationships.
The Role
You will take ownership of a section of the sales ledger, ensuring customers adhere to agreed payment terms through effective telephone and email contact. Responsibilities will include:
*Chasing outstanding invoices and allocating payments
*Handling customer queries and reconciling accounts
*Proactive cash collection and daily/weekly banking
*Issuing statements and customer correspondence
*Monitoring credit limits and supporting credit reviews
*Maintaining credit holds and releasing orders upon payment
*Identifying potential bad debt risks and escalating where necessary
Person Specification
*Minimum 2 years’ credit control experience
*Experience working in a fast-paced environment
*Confident telephone manner with a customer-focused approach
*Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
*Enthusiastic, approachable and a strong team player
Salary & Hours
*£26,500 per annum
*Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (including 1 hour unpaid break)
*20 days holiday plus Bank holidays
