Tooling Engineer

Hales Group are working in partnership with a growing manufacturing business to recruit a Tooling Engineer for a permanent position within their engineering function.

This role would suit a practical, detail-focused engineer who enjoys working with precision tooling and modern machining processes. You will be involved in the full lifecycle of tooling, from manufacture through to ongoing maintenance and improvement, supporting production efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities*Produce precision tooling using CNC and conventional machining methods
*Maintain and refurbish tooling to ensure reliability and performance
*Modify tooling and associated equipment to meet changing production needs
*Diagnose tooling issues and provide effective engineering solutions
*Support production teams with technical expertise when required
*Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with internal procedures
*Record maintenance and engineering activity accurately
*Work collaboratively with colleagues across engineering and manufacturing
Candidate Profile*Proven experience working as a Toolmaker or Machinist within a manufacturing environment
*Confident using milling, turning, grinding, and CNC machinery
*Methodical approach with strong attention to detail
*Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable taking responsibility
*Positive communicator who works well as part of a team
*Adaptable, solution-focused, and open to continuous improvement
*Strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental responsibilities
