CNC Turning Machinist - Aerospace Manufacturing
Overview
Wild Recruitment is partnering with a leading aerospace manufacturer seeking experienced CNC Turning Machinists to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on precision components for cutting-edge aerospace projects.
Key Responsibilities
*Set up and operate CNC lathes using Fanuc control systems.
*Interpret and work from complex aerospace engineering drawings and process specifications.
*Manufacture components to tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes.
*Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometres, verniers, bore gauges).
*Carry out routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
*Accurately complete all production and quality documentation.
*Comply with Health & Safety and AS9100 quality standards.
*Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure compliance with design intent and customer requirements.
Required Experience & Skills
*Proven experience operating CNC lathes in a precision engineering or aerospace environment.
*Ability to programme and edit directly at the machine.
*Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
*Familiarity with AS9100 standards (preferred).
*Skilled in using precision measuring equipment and maintaining accurate documentation.
*High attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
*Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
*Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering / CNC Machining (preferred).
