We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Accountant to join a growing finance team in Luton. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business during a period of rapid growth, where significant investment is being made in systems, processes, and financial controls.

Reporting to the Finance Manager and working within a team of eight, you will gain broad exposure across the finance function while developing your technical and commercial skills. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same, ideal for someone who is curious, proactive, and eager to progress their career in finance.

You will work closely with senior finance stakeholders, contributing to key decision-making and playing an active role in improving processes across the business.

Key Responsibilities*Support month-end reporting from Trial Balance across multiple entities
*Review and improve financial processes, ensuring they are efficient and fit for purpose
*Oversee and review the monthly sales invoicing process
*Partner with teams across the business to solve problems in real time
*Assist with year-end accounts, audit, and tax preparation alongside the Finance Manager
*Support project-led workstreams with the Financial Controller
*Build strong relationships across the organisation to drive collaboration
*Act as a role model, promoting company values and a strong compliance culture

Skills & ExperienceEssential:
*Strong reconciliation experience
*Good working knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, SUMIFs)
*Understanding of sales and purchase processes
*Basic bookkeeping and journal knowledge
*Exposure to month-end/year-end processes
Desirable:
*Financial statement preparation
*Budgeting experience
*Involvement in finance system implementations
