Job Description:
Job Title: Communications Officer Location: County Hall, BA14 8JN (Primarily remote with initial onsite training and occasional visits)
Pay Rate: £16.56 PAYE / £20.43 Umbrella
Contract: 3 Months
About the RoleWe are seeking a proactive and creative Communications Officer to support the delivery of marketing, communications, and engagement activities. You will play a key role in developing campaigns, creating content, and enhancing brand visibility across multiple channels.
Key Responsibilities*Support delivery of communication and marketing campaigns across digital and offline channels
*Create and manage engaging content for social media, email, and websites
*Monitor campaign performance and provide insights for improvement
*Act as first point of contact for communications queries and manage inboxes
*Liaise with stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver projects on time and within budget
*Maintain and update websites and digital platforms ensuring accuracy and accessibility
*Support event planning and delivery, including occasional evenings/weekends
*Ensure all content meets branding and accessibility standards
*Analyse data and produce reports to support decision-making
Key Skills & Experience*Experience in communications, marketing, or similar role
*Strong social media and digital content skills
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Ability to simplify complex information into clear messaging
*Strong organisational and time management skills
*Experience working with stakeholders
*Good analytical and reporting skills
*Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital tools
*Able to work independently and within a team
Qualifications*NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in Communications/Marketing or relevant experience
Desirable*Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress)
*Knowledge of analytics tools
*Public sector experience
*CIM/CIPR qualification (or working towards)
Additional Information*Occasional travel required
*Some evening/weekend work may be needed
*Flexible and adaptable approach required
