About the role


You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a small, busy team of Democratic Services Officers. You will also be the Lead Scrutiny Officer in the delivery of a comprehensive high quality scrutiny support service.

About you


We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:


• Strong experience in Democratic Services or local authority governance.
• Confidence in leading and supporting staff, setting standards, monitoring performance and managing workloads.
• A sound understanding of council governance, scrutiny and decision making processes.
• The ability to contribute positively to service improvement and change.
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills and political awareness.
• A collaborative, proactive and ’can do’ approach to their work
