Job Title: SEND Lecturer – Further Education
Location: Scotland
Pay: £25 - £40 per hour / £28,000 - £40,000 per annum
Working Hours: Part-time and Full-time roles available
Start Date: May 2026
About the role
We are excited to partner with FE Colleges across the North to recruit SEND Lecturers to deliver accredited programmes to young learners. You will play a vital role in shaping learners’ skills, knowledge, and confidence.
Day-to-Day of the Role
• Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality vocational courses
• Coordinate teaching and assessment activities, working closely with curriculum and support teams
• Fulfil class tutor responsibilities, including pastoral and administrative duties
• Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every learner can thrive
Required Skills + Qualities
• Occupational competence in your specialist subject area
• A recognised teaching or training qualification (e.g., QTS, QTLS, DTTLS, PGCE)
• Experience teaching and assessing accredited qualifications from Entry Level to Level 3, 4, or 5
• A committed, motivating, and supportive approach to working with SEND learners
• Resilience, creativity, and the ability to adapt to diverse learning needs.
All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
Reed Further Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment by completing mandatory training within 6 weeks of your first assignment and annually thereafter.
