Warner Adelson is delighted to be partnering with a successful and growing company based in York that is looking to appoint an experienced, highly capable Financial Controller to join their thriving team. The main purpose of this not to be missed role is to lead the finance function being the liaison between accounts and the board. The Financial Controller will manage a small team of 2 reporting into the Managing Director.
Responsibilities:
*Manage all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and financial reporting
*Managing BACS payments, bank reconciliation and and resolving queries
*Managing CIS returns
*Prepare monthly management accounts and balance sheet analysis
*Oversee cash flow management, budgeting and forecasting
*Collaborate with department heads to analyse financial data and support business decisions
*Oversee the preparation of statutory tax and VAT returns
Ideal requirements
*Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) however candidates qualified by experience will also be considered.
*Experienced with CIS returns
Essential requirements
*Proven experience in a similar role, such as Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Head of Finance
*Strong understanding of financial processes, controls and reporting requirements
*Proficient in accounting software and Excel
*Exceptional analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
*A confident communicator, able to present financial information clearly to stakeholders
