Senior Geoscientist
Oxfordshire | Hybrid Working | £40,000 - £55,000
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Geoscientist to join a talented, specialist offshore consultancy working at the forefront of the renewables and subsea cable sector.
This is a fantastic role for an experienced geoscientist looking to take the next step in their career, combining technical delivery, project management, and client-facing responsibilities within a growing and dynamic team.
The Role
You will take a lead role in delivering offshore geoscience projects, integrating geophysical, geotechnical and geological datasets to assess ground conditions, risks and constraints for major offshore developments.
You will also have the opportunity to influence project strategy, support business development, and mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
*Interpret and integrate offshore geophysical and geotechnical datasets
*Deliver engineering geological desk studies, ground models, and cable burial risk assessments
*Produce clear, high-quality technical reports and data visualisations
*Carry out GIS analysis and geospatial data management
*Prepare survey scopes and technical specifications
*Support the planning and optimisation of offshore surveys
*Contribute to tender preparation and commercial proposals
*Manage project programmes, budgets, and deliverables
*Provide technical guidance to junior staff
*Support business development activities and represent the company at industry events
Requirements
*Degree in Earth Sciences or a related field
*5+ years’ experience within offshore geoscience consultancy
*Strong background in:
*Offshore data interpretation (geophysical & geotechnical)
*Ground modelling and desk studies
*GIS (ArcGIS or QGIS)
*Industry software (e.g. Kingdom, DUG Insight, SonarWiz, Leapfrog, Oasis Montaj)
Desirable:
*Cable Burial Risk Assessment (CBRA) experience
*Knowledge of offshore engineering, sediment mobility, or metocean processes
*Exposure to offshore survey planning and delivery
