Role Overview
Our Client are seeking an experienced Production Controller withing Manufacturing Secotr to join our operations team based in Hemel Hempstead. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual with a strong manufacturing background to take ownership of production planning and scheduling in a dynamic environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
*Plan and schedule production orders based on customer demand, stock levels, and available capacity
*Monitor production progress and adjust schedules proactively to address delays or material shortages
*Coordinate with the purchasing team to ensure raw materials and components are available when required
*Track production output, efficiency, and lead times, reporting variances to management
*Ensure production meets quality standards and customer specifications at all times
*Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve workflow efficiency
*Communicate daily priorities clearly to supervisors and production teams
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
*On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance - minimum 95%
*Production schedule adherence
*Material availability and stock accuracy
*Manufacturing efficiency and throughput - factory efficiency minimum 85%
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
*Strong production planning and scheduling skills
*Good understanding of manufacturing processes including metal and joinery fabrication, painting and assembly
*Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
*Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
*Confident communicator, able to collaborate effectively across departments
*High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure
*Comfortable using ERP systems
*Proficient in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level) and good general IT skills
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
*Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production environment - shelving, shopfitting, or retail equipment preferred
*Previous experience in a production control, planning, or manufacturing coordination role
*Knowledge or qualification in lean methodologies (Lean / Six Sigma) desirable
*Fluent English - written and spoken
