Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Blackburn. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of site production operations and play a key role in driving efficiency, performance, and team development.
The Role
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
You will work closely with internal teams to coordinate production schedules, manage resources, and maintain a consistent workflow across the site. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving and leading from the front.
Key Responsibilities
*Plan, schedule, and manage daily and weekly production activities
*Ensure materials and resources are in place to meet production demands
*Monitor output and resolve production or capacity issues
*Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture
*Maintain accurate production records and KPIs
*Support stock control and work-in-progress tracking
*Identify and implement process improvements
*Manage, coach, and develop the production team
*Handle attendance, performance, and employee relations matters
*Support quality control and investigate production issues
Requirements
*Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment
*Strong organisational and planning skills
*Confident leadership and communication ability
*Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production planning systems
*Experience handling people-related matters in line with HR processes
Desirable:
*Experience in timber, sawmilling, or heavy manufacturing
*Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
*Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
