Job Title:Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical & Building Services

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our Mechanical & Building Services team based in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to take ownership of the commercial management of M&E projects from pre-construction through to final account.
You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.


Key Responsibilities
*Preparation, submission, and agreement of interim valuations and applications for payment
*Management and negotiation of variations
*Preparation and submission of Extension of Time (EOT) claims
*Management and agreement of final accounts
*Full commercial administration of subcontractor accounts, including procurement, payments, and final account agreement
*Cost forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting
*Attending and contributing to client and project meetings
*Direct liaison with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders
*Ensuring contractual compliance across all project activities


Requirements
*Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Mechanical & Building Services
*Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT/NEC)
*Experience managing variations, applications, EOT claims, and final accounts
*Confident in managing subcontractor packages
*Excellent negotiation and communication skills
*Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
*Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
*Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (HNC/HND/Degree)
