Job Description:
We are working with a brilliant company in South Kirkby, Pontefract. They have an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking, enthusiastic and self starting Commercial Assistant to join their Commercial UK & Europe Team.
The successful candidate will be principally responsible for supporting the day to day information across a portfolio of suppliers and customers spanning multiple service disciplines in the UK and EU.
What will the Commercial Assistant role entail?
• Day to day financial transactions.
• Provide swift responses to general financial administrative queries.
• Utilise knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Verification of supplier charges and invoices to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain financial records.
• Conduct financial audits of payments and rebates.
• Undertake biannual review and reconciliation of outside service charges.
• Provide analytical assistance to the commercial consultant to aid commercial negotiations with suppliers.
• Maintain department database consistently and accurately.
What background is needed for the Commercial Assistant role?
• Highly numerate with a good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes.
• Excellent organisation and time leadership skills with an ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Computer literate – strong Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Word skills are crucial with a desire to develop further.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent logical problem-solving abilities.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Seeks to develop and present potential solutions when identifying issues.
• Finds opportunities to work more efficiently.
• A proactive approach to tasks with a strong sense of personal accountability for its successful completion.
• Demonstrate a genuine desire to learn and capacity to understand and relate to others.
• Work with energy and passion.
• Professional and courteous.
• Ideally be from a food manufacturing background.
• Already have experience with account management in a similar company with good exposure to customers and buyers.
The Commercial Assistant role is full time, Monday to Friday, office based in South Kirkby, Pontefract
