Corporate Secretary - Global Markets (Legal & Compliance)
London / Hybrid

A prestigious global insurer is seeking an experienced Corporate Secretary to join its Legal & Compliance function, supporting European operations. This is a highly visible role working closely with senior legal counsel across London and Dublin, offering broad exposure to governance, regulatory, and board-level activity.

The Role
This position sits at the heart of the business, owning and delivering high-quality company secretarial and governance support across multiple entities. You will play a key role in ensuring robust corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and effective board operations.

Key responsibilities include:
* Leading board and committee support, including agenda preparation, minute taking, and stakeholder coordination
* Maintaining statutory registers and ensuring all Companies House and regulatory filings are up to date
* Supporting corporate governance frameworks and compliance processes across the business
* Assisting with regulatory submissions and returns (including FCA/PRA/Lloyd’s/CBI where applicable)
* Managing legal and compliance records, ensuring accuracy and audit readiness
* Supporting legal documentation, transactional activity, and departmental projects
* Assisting with due diligence, KYC processes, and auditor engagement
* Monitoring and summarising legal and regulatory developments

The Candidate

You will be an experienced company secretarial professional with a strong grounding in insurance or financial services.

Key requirements:
* 6-10 years’ experience in a company secretarial or governance role (law firm, insurer, or financial services environment)
* Strong knowledge of corporate governance, regulatory frameworks, and board processes
* Experience engaging with UK and/or European regulators (e.g. Companies House, FCA, PRA, Lloyd’s, CBI)
* Excellent written communication skills, particularly in minute taking and board materials preparation
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
* Proactive, professional, and confident working with senior stakeholders

A CILEx qualification (or equivalent legal/paralegal training) is preferred.
