Job Description:
We are working with a well-established organisation to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor or Manager to lead and develop a high-performing accounts payable function across multiple sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive finance professional who enjoys managing people, improving processes, and ensuring best-practice controls across a busy transactional finance environment.
The Role
The Accounts Payable Manager will take ownership of the end-to-end accounts payable process, supervising a team and ensuring accurate, timely processing of invoices, supplier payments, and reconciliations. You will play a key role in strengthening controls, supporting month-end activity, and acting as the escalation point for complex queries.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead and manage the accounts payable team across multiple locations, ensuring workloads are balanced and service levels maintained
*Line-manage team members, including coaching, performance management, and development planning
*Oversee the accurate and timely processing of purchase orders, goods received notes, and invoices within the finance system
*Manage payment runs, supplier statement reconciliations, and resolve queries or disputes efficiently
*Act as the primary escalation point for accounts payable issues, both internally and externally
*Ensure strong compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory requirements
*Support the finance team during month-end and year-end close processes
*Prepare account payable reports and provide insight to support decision-making
*Assist with audit requests by providing supporting documentation and explanations
The Ideal Candidate
*Proven experience in a senior accounts payable or transactional finance management role
*Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and support a team
*Excellent attention to detail and a structured, organised approach to work
*Confidence working with finance systems and Microsoft Office tools
*Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers
*A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to manage changing priorities
