Job Description:
A Leeds-based charity, in partnership with Robert Half, is seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their finance team on a remote basis. This fully remote role is offered for a minimum assignment of at least 9 months, supporting the charity’s day-to-day finance functions and ensuring timely, accurate processing of supplier payments.
Key Responsibilities:
*Accurately process purchase invoices and credit notes, ensuring correct coding and timely entry into the charity’s finance system.
*Reconcile supplier statements and liaise proactively with suppliers to resolve queries and discrepancies.
*Prepare payment runs in line with charity policies and facilitate approvals in accordance with internal controls.
*Monitor the purchase ledger inbox and process invoices received electronically, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.
*Assist with month-end closing activities including ledger reconciliations and reporting.
*Support audit and compliance requirements by maintaining clear, accurate records of purchase transactions.
*Collaborate with colleagues across the finance team to improve processes and ensure efficient workflows.
*Undertake general financial administration and ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements:
*Previous experience in a purchase ledger, accounts payable, or comparable finance role.
*Proficient with financial software and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
*High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational ability.
*Excellent communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
*Ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment.
*Understanding or experience within a charity or not-for-profit setting is desirable but not essential.
