A Leeds-based charity, in partnership with Robert Half, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Temporary Credit Controller to join their finance team on a remote basis. This is a fully remote assignment for a minimum period of 5-6 months, supporting the charity’s income and finance operations to ensure effective credit management.
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage the charity’s accounts receivable ledger, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments from donors, partners, and other stakeholders.
*Proactively chase overdue invoices via telephone, email, and written correspondence while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and sensitivity appropriate to a charity environment.
*Investigate, resolve, and document disputes and queries collaborating with internal teams and external contacts as required.
*Maintain accurate records of communications, payment agreements, and other credit control activities within the charity’s systems.
*Produce regular aged debt reports, supporting month-end and year-end processes as requested by the finance team.
*Recommend accounts for escalation or further action in accordance with charity policies and regulatory guidelines.
*Support the finance team with ad hoc administrative and financial tasks as needed.
Requirements:
*Previous experience in a credit control, accounts receivable, or finance administration role.
*Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach to debt collection.
*High level of accuracy, numeracy, and attention to detail.
*Ability to use relevant accounting/CRM systems and proficiency with MS Excel.
*Proactive approach, able to work independently and as part of a remote team.
*Experience working within the charity or not-for-profit sector is desirable, but not essential.
