Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper
The Role
Our client is a highly successful organisation based in Barnsley. Due to continued growth, the business is looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant/Bookkeeper.
The role is a standalone finance position, but supported by an external consultant and the business’s accounting firm.
As an Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper, you will be expected to deliver a comprehensive finance and administrative service. You will work closely with the Directors and will be responsible for the following:
*Assisting in preparing monthly management accounts
*Month-end accruals, journals
*Credit Control
*Bank reconciliations
*VAT returns
*Process and accounting systems improvements
*Completion of purchase ledger and nominal ledger
*Liaising closely with the management team to ensure billing information is accurate for invoicing
*Reconcile bank statements
*Prepare quarterly VAT returns
*Maintaining the record of Petty Cash
Skills and Qualities
The successful individual will have developed experience working within either a stand-alone finance role or part of a larger finance team. AAT, CIMA, or ACCA qualification would be ideal, although not a prerequisite.
You will also have:
*A minimum of 5 years accounting/bookkeeping experience
*Excellent understanding of financial management systems
*Excellent organisational skills
*Ability to work
*Excellent attention to detail

*£33,000 - £35,000 dependent upon experience

Although the business is ideally looking for someone full-time, they would also be happy to consider part-time working hours (around 30 hours/week)
