Import Operations Manager

£42,000 - £48,000
Within this role you will lead nad develop the Import Operations function, ensuring efficient, compliant and commerically effective management of all European Road Freight Imports. You will be responsible for operational workflow, service delivery, financial performance and cross-departmental coordiantion.
The role will also oversee the offshore Customs Processing Team
Responsibilities
*Oversee trailer arrivals, inbound planning, documentation flow and coordiantion with internal departments
*Ensure all operational processes, systems and documentation are accurate and improved.
*Drive high customer service standards
*Manage daily workflow, task allocation and staffing levels
*Monitor performance, provide staff support and coaching
*Monitor and manage department budgets, margins and cost controls to support profitability
*Ensure accurate invoicing, quote sheets and financial reporting
*Identify opportunties to improve margin performance
*Oversee offshore customs processign team, ensuring accurate import / export decarations across air, sea and road
*Maintain a working knowledge of customs processes and regulations
Your Experience
Significant experience in an import operations freight forwarding environment (Road freight is preferable)
strong understanding of operational workflows and performance management
