Job Description:
Are you an experienced Rent and Service Charge professional within social housing? Do you have a strong understanding of service charge calculations and the confidence to manage high volumes of tenant queries? Can you step into a busy team and add value from day one?
A large organisation is seeking a Temporary Service Charge Officer to support a high-performing team. This is a fast-paced role requiring strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage complex queries efficiently. The role will be based on a hybrid basis, with three days per week in the Birmingham office and two days working from home.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Managing a high volume of rent and service charge queries from tenants
*Investigating and resolving service charge discrepancies, working closely with internal teams
*Updating systems with rent and service charge changes
*Calculating and processing refunds where appropriate
*Producing clear written communications to explain charges and outcomes
The successful candidate will have:
*Essential: Proven experience working within a rent and service charge role in social housing
*Strong understanding of service charge processes and calculations
*Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse financial data
*Experience using housing management systems
*Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle challenging queries professionally
*The ability to work independently in a high-volume environment
