Job Description:
A very established furnishing and fabrics business in Chelsea is recruiting for a Showroom Manager. The company has been trading for nearly 100 years and supply an extensive range of high-end interior fabrics for the interior design industry. The range of textiles supplied by the company are used in traditional and contemporary interiors and they also have a history of supplying fabrics and textiles to historic buildings and palaces. The textiles are woven and produced using traditional techniques and they also supply a custom design and colouring process.
This role would suit an experienced Showroom Manager or someone who is working at showroom assistant level and who is looking for a step up.
This is a central and pivotal role within the business involving coordinating, leading and supporting the showroom team; leading the sales process and managing relationships with important interior design clients. The role will involve overseeing and being hands-on with:
*Processing sample requests, client orders, and POs from US via direct email & shared mailbox
*Confident presentation of the collections and cross-selling, understanding the client’s requirements. Assisting the client when visiting the showroom.
*Maintaining the showroom aesthetic and display, including
*Keeping shelves refreshed and updated with new sample lengths as required.
*Organising the return of samples
*Keeping the cutting folders tidy
*Processing the incoming stock orders in a timely and efficient manner
*Checking payments in and processing proformas
*Managing twice weekly US shipments via FedEx
*Quality Control – liaising between warehouse staff and client regarding their order post invoice being raised. Supporting team in this process.
*Following up with pending orders and liaising with Warehouse team regarding any delays/issues that may have arisen.
*Diagnosing issues or delays with shipping and problem solving so these are quickly resolved or avoided in future. Ideally experience in this area would be beneficial.
*Regular communication to overseas colleagues regarding the above delays should it be required.
*Regular communication with MD and reporting any issues or concerns
*Oversee trade application process
*Look for opportunities to engage with new clients and/or engage or interact with older or more dormant clients
*Stock control, re ordering when required and analysing popularity
*Noting market feedback and research to keep in mind for future projects.
*Organising and hosting showroom events as and when they occur.
*Assisting the MD in researching content for Instagram/contributing ideas.
*Anything else as directed by MD/Trustees
You will have/be
*A great understanding of the Interior Design industry and its networks
*A love and appreciation of textiles and the art of Interior Design/Architecture/Design
*Confidence in the language used by interior designers and their teams and be able to communicate effectively with decorators, their assistants, curtain workrooms and upholsterers.
*A confident and approachable manager, ideally with some knowledge or experience of HR processes
*Highly organised and have an exceptional eye for detail.
Monday to Friday – 9am - 5.30pm. 20 days holiday plus public holidays in addition to full Christmas closure that is paid on top. Discretionary bonus.
