Senior Marine (Cargo) Claims Handler
Your new Company
An established international Lloyd’s broker based in the City of London is seeking a Senior Marine Cargo Claims Handler to join its specialist claims team. This role would suit an experienced marine claims professional with significant marine cargo claims handling experience, who enjoys working on technically complex, high-value losses within a market-facing environment.
Your new role
In this role, you will be responsible for handling a portfolio of marine cargo claims from cradle to grave, including complex and high-value losses across international and open market business. You will manage coverage analysis, investigations, reserving and settlement strategy, working closely with brokers, underwriters, surveyors, adjusters, lawyers and other external experts.

The position will also involve supporting best practice within the claims function, contributing to claims MI and providing guidance to junior team members where required. While formal people management responsibilities are not essential, there is scope to take on mentorship or leadership activity depending on experience.

What you’ll need to succeed
To be considered, you will have significant experience handling Marine Cargo claims, ideally within the London Market or Lloyd’s environment. You will bring strong technical knowledge of marine cargo wordings and claims practices, with the ability to manage complex matters autonomously.

Experience supporting or leading others within a claims team is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong communication skills and a collaborative, professional approach are essential.
