This is an incredibly exciting Policy and Public Affairs Manager opportunity with a UK social justice charity, based in their London office. You’ll influence change, and help protect vulnerable people- making a tangible difference in countless lives every day. This opportunity also provides you with project leadership and strategic responsibilities.

Description
Policy and Public Affairs Manager
London
Key responsibilities:
*Monitor policy and political developments to identify opportunities and risks that will affect people with lived experience, and ensure the charity has opportunities to highlight the issue of intersecting issues.
*Lead and support evidence gathering including APPG inquiries into issues affecting those with lived experience.
*Represent the charity at external events and meetings.
*Provide Co-Secretariat to the All-Party Parliamentary Group.
*Proactively create opportunities to engage and influence politicians and policy makers.
*Grow their influence in all four UK parliaments in line with their strategic goals, building the number of parliamentarians and civil servants that regularly engage with the topic areas.
*Work with colleagues to develop the impact of their campaigning, including engaging the charity’s supporters and members of the public.
*Engage with people with lived experience with the aim of better understanding the issues they campaign on, and to facilitate a platform for them to share their views directly with policy makers.

Policy and Public Affairs Manager
London
Essential:
*Previous experience of working in a policy or public affairs role.
*Experience of building and maintaining relationships with politicians and other policymakers, including quickly building rapport and establishing trust.
*Experience of working with Parliamentarians in All Party Parliamentary Group/s
*Experience of sensitively representing complex issues in communications with professionals or the public, particularly issues which impact on marginalised people.
*Able to produce clear and accessible reports, consultation responses and documents on a wide range of subjects for a range of audiences.
*Able to work autonomously, with proven ability to move projects forward when working independently
