Ambition is working with a high-performing and well-established London accountancy firm to recruit an Audit Semi-Senior into their growing Financial Services audit team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has passed 8-10 exams and is studying towards the ACA qualification and who is looking to build strong audit fundamentals, gain greater responsibility on assignments, and develop within a supportive, people-focused environment.


The Opportunity
The Financial Services audit team has grown rapidly and works with a diverse portfolio of FS clients. In addition to statutory audit work, the team increasingly supports clients with wider accounting and compliance requirements, giving the role good variety and exposure.
From day one, you’ll benefit from structured training, mentoring, and clear progression, with regular feedback and opportunities to step up in responsibility as you develop.


Key Responsibilities
*Performing audits using a risk-based audit approach
*Acting as part of larger audit teams, completing agreed sections of the audit file
*Taking ownership of smaller audit assignments, reporting directly to managers
*Assisting with audit planning through to completion, including:
*Fieldwork testing
*Drafting financial statements
*Preparing management letters and letters of representation
*Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate
*Maintaining regular communication with seniors and managers, highlighting risks and suggesting improvements to clients’ systems and controls
*Working across office-based, client-site, and remote environments (some overnight stays may be required)


About You
This role would suit someone who is:
*Studying towards the ACA qualification
*Currently working in audit within a UK accountancy practice
*Experienced in supporting audits from planning through to completion
*Beginning to take on more responsibility and client interaction
*A proactive team player who can work to deadlines and manage priorities
*Confident communicating with colleagues and clients
*Competent using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
*Exposure to data analytics tools would be beneficial, but not essential
