Job Description:
St Andrews International School Bangkok is one of 88 schools in the Nord Anglia Education (NAE) family. We offer a British educational curriculum with an international perspective that begins in Nursery and leads up to IGCSE examinations in Year 11, and culminates with the International Baccalaureate Diploma after completing Year 13. We are an inclusive school that invites children from all backgrounds and abilities to participate in the educational offerings on our diverse campus.
Founded in 1997 on an attractive, conveniently located site, with excellent facilities and access to local transportation. Today we have more than 2,400 students over a Primary School and High School campus, representing some 68 nationalities ranging from Foundation Stage to Year 13. Our state-of-the-art High School campus (next to Ekkamai BTS) opened in August 2017 giving our students the benefit of world-class teaching and facilities.
As part of the NAE family of schools, we are delighted to be able to offer some unique collaborations with world-class establishments, including the Juilliard School of Performing Arts, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and UNICEF.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Business and Economics Teacher who shares our commitment to providing a nurturing, inspiring, and inclusive educational journey for every student. Join us in creating a positive, lasting impact.
Business and Economics are popular and well-established subjects at St Andrews and we are looking for an inspiring teacher to join the team. Class sizes are small and the students are motivated and enthusiastic, enjoying a lively approach to the subject through a wide range of teaching and learning techniques.
At St Andrews International School Bangkok, we believe knowing each child is at the heart of effective education. Our classrooms are warm, engaging spaces where students feel supported to explore, learn, and grow. Our teachers bring this vision to life through creativity, dedication, and commitment to each child’s unique journey.
Inspiring Learning and Development:
As a Business and Economics teacher at St Andrews, you will nurture the academic and personal growth of your class, adapting teaching methods to meet the individual needs, abilities, and interests of each student. Staying informed on current educational practices, you’ll bring fresh approaches to our curriculum and provide regular, meaningful feedback to parents. Collaborative planning is central to our approach, and you’ll work closely with colleagues and Heads of Subject to design cohesive learning experiences for students.
Key Stage 4 students study IGCSE Business (CIE), IGCSE Economics (Edexcel) and Level 2 International BTEC Business which are very popular subjects in Key Stage 4, and in Key Stage 5, all students following the IB Diploma Programme must study at least one Humanities subject, with IB Business Management and Economics being popular choices. We also offer the IB Career-related Programme (IBCP) with Level 3 International BTEC Business and BTEC Travel and Tourism as the CRS, or alongside a number of IB Diploma Courses.
We are looking for a Teacher to inspire our students and foster a passion for the subject. You will be proactive and forward thinking, willing to develop links with the local business community, organising guest speakers and supporting students with work experience or internship opportunities. Our Teachers work collaboratively in the continued development of the curriculum from Year 10 to Year 13.
We welcome applications from teachers new to the profession for whom we offer DfE, ECF-based training for Early career teachers (ECTs), as well as experienced teachers. Previous experience teaching either IB or A Level Business Management and Economics would be advantageous.
Collaborating as a Professional Team Member:
Being part of our team means embracing shared goals and contributing positively to our school community. You’ll implement assessment and reporting protocols with integrity and accuracy, supervise students during designated times, and support curriculum development through regular meetings and professional development sessions. Working closely with fellow teachers, you’ll ensure a consistent, high-quality learning environment across classes and year groups.
Professional Development
We prioritise professional growth, offering access to Nord Anglia University’s CPD platform and encouraging collaboration through Professional Learning Communities, Triads, and WalkThrus. With leadership and Masters programme opportunities, we support our teachers in their journey to become lifelong learners.
Building a Welcoming School Community:
Our school is a dynamic environment that encourages curiosity and engagement. As an educator, you’ll make classrooms and shared spaces inviting and stimulating, helping children feel excited to learn and participate. You’ll engage weekly in extracurricular activities, represent the school in the local and international community, and champion our House system by supporting House events.
