Stores & Logistics Coordinator
Location: Braintree, Essex
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Job Type: Ongoing Temporary Assignment
Pay Rate:£14.10 per hour
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Stores & Logistics Coordinator to join a busy and well-established operation based in Braintree. This is an ongoing temporary role offering full-time hours and a varied, hands-on position across stores, dispatch, and international logistics.
Key Responsibilities
* Receiving and counting stock items, inputting details accurately onto the in-house system
* Packing, unpacking, and storing items in an organised and accessible manner
* Dealing with and resolving any stock-related issues
* Carrying out regular stock checks and physical inventory counts
* Completing daily stores, goods-in, and dispatch tasks
* Operating a forklift truck and other equipment to load, unload, and move materials
* Issuing and distributing materials, parts, and supplies to the workshop from requisitions
* Liaising with UK and overseas customers to arrange deliveries to final destinations
* Maintaining accurate records and supporting audits and inspections
* Receiving and processing air freight shipments
* Receiving and processing sea freight shipments
* Providing accurate clearance instructions to freight agents
* Researching freight costings and obtaining quotations
* Organising dangerous goods shipping in line with IATA (Air) and IMDG (Sea) regulations
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a stores, logistics, or warehouse environment
* Strong stock control and inventory management knowledge
* Experience with air and sea freight (desirable)
* Knowledge of IATA / IMDG dangerous goods shipping (advantageous)
* Forklift licence preferred (or willingness to obtain)
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with customers and freight agents
* Competent using computer-based stock or ERP systems
