Position Title: Cleaning Area Manager
Reports to: Director
Location: Varies. On site at client address.
Contract Type: Permanent – Part time, Flexible


Role Purpose
This is the first role of its nature within the business, therefore in time this role will evolve and grow with you. It also means there is a fair amount of flexibility in the role and ability to work autonomously and independently.
The Cleaning Area Manager will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality cleaning services across multiple sites within their allocated area. This role will involve managing and supporting staff with service delivery, training new employees, covering staff absence and annual leave cover, ensuring compliance with company standards, conducting regular stock checks, coordinating stock deliveries, carrying out spot checks.
The Area Manager will act as the key link between the cleaning teams and senior management to maintain excellent service levels and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities


Staff Management
*It is your responsibility to oversee and manage all staff pertaining to the contracts you are responsible for. Which will include, new hires, training, absence management and any other support required.
Absence & Leave Management
*Provide cover for staff absences, including sickness and holiday leave, ensuring seamless service delivery.
*Maintain accurate records of staff attendance and leave. We use Timetree and Bright HR for recording all absences and staff whereabouts.
Operational Oversight
*Conduct regular site visits and spot checks to ensure cleaning standards meet contractual and company requirements.
*Monitor and support cleaning teams, providing guidance and training where needed.
*Address and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
Stock & Supplies
*Manage stock levels across all sites, and distribution of cleaning supplies.
*Conduct regular stock takes and oversee timely stock deliveries.
Compliance & Standards
*Ensure staff are following company policies, health & safety standards, and site-specific procedures.
*Promote and maintain safe working practices across all sites.
Person Specification
Essential:
*Previous experience in cleaning management, facilities management, or a supervisory role is advantageous.
*Keen eye for detail is essential.
*A supportive and friendly approach to staff management and training.
*Strong organisational and time management skills.
*Ability to manage multiple sites and teams effectively.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Proactive problem-solving approach and ability to work under pressure.
*Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

*Watford – Mon to Thurs: 17:00 – 20:00 / Fri: 16:00 – 19:00
*Watford, Aldenham – Mon to Fri: 15:00 – 18:00
*Hemel Hempstead S1 – Mon, Weds, Fri: 15:00 – 17:00
*Hemel Hempstead S2 – Tues: 17:00 – 18:30 / Sat: 12:00 – 16:00
*Hemel Hempstead S3: Weds & Fri: 17:30 – 19:00
