Job Description:
Part-time Accounts Assistant, Chelmsford
*Job Type: Part-time
*Location: Chelmsford
*Salary: £29,120 per annum pro rata (part-time salary £11,648 per annum)
This role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including managing purchase invoices, payments, and assisting with management accounts. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, with a keen interest in progressing their career and taking on more responsibilities over time.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Posting purchase invoices onto Sage, including scanning and setting up a new system.
*Locating any missing invoices or expenses and ensuring suppliers are paid promptly.
*Posting payments onto Sage and raising ad hoc invoices.
*Maintaining and updating spreadsheets
*Assisting with management accounts.
*General filing and administrative duties.
*Covering for the Finance Manager during their holidays, which includes checking the fire system, managing commissions, and addressing urgent ad hoc items.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Minimum of 1 AAT qualification.
*At least 2 years of experience working in accounts.
*Ambitious and looking to progress in the field, with a desire to take additional AAT exams.
*Willingness to work additional hours during busy periods and potentially increase hours permanently.
*Excellent initiative and attention to detail.
*Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure.
*Strong team player with a willingness to explore and help implement new AI opportunities to improve productivity.
Working Hours:
*2 days per week, potentially spread across more days.
*Initial training period requires availability on Mondays and Wednesdays.
*7 paid hours per day with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
