Job Description:
A leading global insurance broker is looking to appoint a Senior Claims Handler to join their UK Retail Financial Lines team due to company growth. This is a key role within a growing function that manages all UK retail claims, working closely with London market specialists on complex and potential high-value cases.
The Role
You will take ownership of a varied caseload of Financial Lines claims, managing them from first notification through to settlement. The role is highly client-facing, requiring you to act as a trusted advisor while also negotiating firmly with insurers to achieve the best outcomes.
The portfolio typically includes around circa 300-500 claims, with values ranging significantly and in some cases exceeding £20m. The work will focus primarily on Professional Indemnity and Employment Practices Liability, with broader exposure across Financial Lines.
About You
-Minimum 3 years’ claims experience ideally from an insurer or broker environment
-Confident dealing directly with clients and strong communication and negotiation skills with Underwriters
-Ability to manage a busy and varied workload from SME to Corporate clients
-Must Have experience within Financial Lines, particularly PI or EPL is required
Working Environment & Package
The role offers a hybrid working model with three days in the office (Chelmsford and/or London), alongside flexibility once established.
