Residential Property Lawyer – Technical / PSL Style Role
No client facing, no fee earning targets
Colchester (Hybrid) | £40,000 – £50,000
Looking to step away from fee earning but still use your conveyancing expertise?
A well-regarded firm is expanding its central property function and is keen to speak with experienced residential conveyancers who enjoy the technical side of transactions and want a role focused on quality, insight, and process improvement rather than client management.
The Opportunity
This position sits at the heart of the conveyancing team, supporting lawyers across the firm by getting involved at the earliest stages of a file. You’ll play a key role in identifying potential issues before they become problems, helping to streamline transactions and improve overall delivery.
Working alongside an established team, you’ll act as a go-to technical resource, helping ensure matters progress smoothly and consistently.
What You’ll Be Doing
*Reviewing titles at the outset of transactions and spotting potential risks early
*Providing concise, practical guidance to fee earners on issues that may impact progression
*Supporting the team with technical queries and complex title points
*Helping drive a more structured and consistent approach across files
*Contributing to the firm’s ongoing investment in legal tech and AI tools within conveyancing
What They’re Looking For
*Solid background in residential conveyancing
*Strong grasp of title matters and property law fundamentals
*Someone who enjoys problem-solving and technical analysis
*Clear communicator who can break down complex issues for colleagues
*Interest in innovation / improving systems and processes is a bonus
