A well-known Aerospace organisation are currently seeking an experienced Buyer to join a growing purchasing team in Gloucester.
*Role: Buyer
*Duration: 6-month contract
*Pay: Up to £25 p/hr (Inside IR35)
*Location: Gloucester (Fully onsite)
This role will play a key part in supporting the business by sourcing goods and services under optimum conditions of cost, quality, delivery, and compliance, while ensuring a smooth end-to-end Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process.
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage purchasing activities within your scope, from sourcing through to contract management
*Lead supplier tendering, evaluation, and selection processes
*Negotiate commercial terms and support the drafting of supplier contracts
*Build and maintain effective supplier relationships
*Consolidate supplier performance assessments across quality, logistics, and cost
*Drive supplier improvement and cost-reduction action plans
*Maintain accurate purchasing data within procurement systems
*Identify and resolve issues and disputes in a proactive manner
*Support sourcing start-up activities and supplier onboarding
You will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, contributing to supplier performance, cost optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Requirements:
*Experience within Aerospace, Defence or similar environments
*Proven knowledge of purchasing methodologies and P2P processes
*Experience working within a purchasing team using procurement information systems
*Strong numerical and analytical skills
*Indirect purchasing experience
*Good understanding of industrial, purchasing, and contractual/legal principles
*Proven ability to prioritise tasks and manage tasks across multiple sites.
