Role: Litigation Locum Solicitor
Location: Rochdale (Hybrid Working Available)
Rate: £60 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 25th May 2026 - End of September 2026

The Opportunity
CRA Consulting is delighted to be working in partnership with Rochdale Council to recruit an experienced Litigation Locum Solicitor to support their busy legal services team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-regarded Local Authority offering a varied and engaging caseload, where you will play a key role in supporting internal departments and delivering high-quality legal services to the Council and its stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing
You will manage a diverse litigation caseload, including:
*Housing-related litigation including disrepair matters
*Applications for injunctions and access to property
*Debt recovery and enforcement work
*General litigation matters on behalf of the Council
*Providing pragmatic, solution-focused advice to internal client departments
*Representing the Council in court where required

What they’re looking for
*Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with full practising rights
*Proven experience in litigation, ideally within a Local Authority setting
*Strong advocacy skills and court experience
*Ability to manage a busy caseload independently and meet tight deadlines
*A collaborative and proactive approach to working within a legal team
