Job Description:
At Gordon Murray Automotive, programme delivery is central to turning innovative engineering into world-class vehicles. From early concept through to production, effective programme leadership ensures that technical ambition is matched with disciplined execution. We are seeking a Senior Programme Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of vehicle programmes, ensuring alignment across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial functions.
Operating at the heart of the business, this role requires strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to manage complexity across multiple programmes. You will drive structured programme execution, ensuring milestones, budgets, and quality standards are consistently achieved.
This is your chance to:
*Lead the delivery of multiple vehicle programmes from concept through to production, ensuring alignment with key milestones, deliverables, and cost targets.
*Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, development, and manufacturing to achieve both technical and commercial objectives.
*Define programme scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders.
*Develop and maintain robust project plans, ensuring alignment with business priorities and resource availability.
*Oversee risk management activities, identifying potential issues early and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
*Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment across all programme activities.
*Drive decision-making to resolve technical, operational, and commercial challenges.
*Monitor programme performance, tracking progress against budget, timing, and quality targets using appropriate tools and metrics.
*Implement and maintain effective change management processes covering scope, schedule, and cost.
*Lead programme governance and review meetings, providing clear and structured updates to senior leadership.
*Lead continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance programme delivery, efficiency, and ways of working.
About You:
*Proven experience delivering complex vehicle or engineering programmes within automotive or closely related sectors.
*Strong technical understanding of vehicle development processes, from concept design through to production.
*Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets and complex programme schedules.
*Experienced in stakeholder management, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
*Proficient in programme and project management tools, methodologies, and structured delivery frameworks.
*Organised, adaptable, and proactive, with the confidence to challenge existing processes where needed.
*A collaborative team player with a clear and effective communication style.
*Degree-qualified in Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
*Professional project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent) is desirable.
*Experience in areas such as lightweight structures, advanced materials, or alternative powertrains is advantageous.
*Awareness of emerging automotive technologies and sustainability trends is beneficial.
Why this role matters:
