Job Description:
Payroll Co-ordinator
As Payroll Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of the company’s payroll, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation and internal controls. You will act as a key point of contact for payroll queries, working closely with HR and Finance to maintain accurate records and resolve issues promptly. Your work will have a direct impact on employee satisfaction and the integrity of payroll reporting.
Responsibilities:
*Process end-to-end monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
*Maintain and update payroll records, including starters, leavers, changes to contracts, and personal details.
*Calculate and apply UK PAYE, NI, statutory deductions, and statutory payments (e.g. SMP, SPP, SSP).
*Reconcile payroll reports and perform checks to identify and correct discrepancies before final submission.
*Prepare and submit payroll-related returns and reports to HMRC and internal stakeholders.
*Respond to payroll queries
Requirements:
*Previous experience in payroll or a similar finance role
*Good understanding of UK payroll processes and legislation
*Experience with payroll systems and strong Excel skills
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail
*Strong organisational and time management skills
*Good communication and interpersonal skills
*Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
*Professional and discreet with confidential information
