Logistics & Operations Manager Vacancy
*Annual Salary: up to £65k per annum.
*Location: Stevenage (split between warehouse and head offices)
*Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a Logistics & Operations Manager to oversee our warehouse operations across all UK storage facilities and manage both UK and international logistics. This role is crucial for supporting our supply chain and customer service teams and driving process improvement initiatives that align with our business strategy.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Lead and manage personnel within warehouse and logistics operations, including handling holidays, arranging cover for absences, and hiring temporary staff when necessary.
*Oversee all UK warehousing activities, including contract negotiation and renewal, stock fulfilment across sites, and resolution of delivery or stock discrepancies.
*Manage UK and international freight operations to ensure compliance, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and fulfilment of customer and supplier obligations.
*Collaborate with the Logistics Coordinator and Supply Chain Manager on global import and export freight requirements.
*Ensure all storage, freight, and logistics operations comply with regulatory requirements.
*Maintain accurate stock systems, resolve discrepancies, and report on stock status to align with UK stock holding targets.
*Contribute to the enhancement of stock control software and implement process improvements within your scope of responsibility.
*Manage warehouse and logistics budgets, contributing to planning and forecasts, and provide regular updates to the Senior Leadership Team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proficient in warehouse and stock management systems.
*Strong understanding of UK and international freight, customs, and logistics processes.
*Experience in managing budgets and forecasting for cost centres.
*Skilled in contract and SLA management for 3PL warehousing and logistics providers.
*Ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams effectively, providing clear direction and constructive feedback.
*Strong focus on efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
*Excellent communication skills across all levels of the business, including senior leadership.
*Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
