Job Description:
Secondary SEN Skills Teacher (PSHE & Careers)
Salary: £24,800 - £28,000
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time (Monday - Friday, 08:15-16:00)

Are you a dedicated educator driven by the belief that every learner deserves a pathway to independence? We are seeking a pioneering Skills Teacher to lead our PSHE and Careers curriculum at our brand-new site. This is a unique opportunity to join an inclusive education community from its inception, specifically working with pupils across KS3 and KS4 with a spectrum of SEND and SEMH needs.
This role is about more than classroom delivery; it is about empowering students to master the social, emotional, and professional skills they need for life beyond the school gates. You will be the architect of their future, blending personal development with practical career guidance to ensure our learners are ready for the world.
Benefits:
*Join a new site launch and help shape the learning culture from the ground up.
*Access to comprehensive induction and ongoing training in SEN awareness, first aid, and safeguarding.
*Join a team driven by shared purpose and continuous improvement within an expanding network.
*Work within a therapeutic, relational ethos that promotes safety and emotional well-being for all.
Responsibilities:

* Design and deliver high-impact PSHE and Careers programmes tailored to EHCP outcomes and individual starting points.
*Create innovative learning materials for a diverse cohort, adapting the environment and pace to meet a wide range of SEND profiles.
* Establish a calm, structured, and trauma-informed classroom culture that promotes regulation and well-being.
* Track and evidence progress against personalised and statutory outcomes, contributing actively to Annual Reviews and EHCP processes.
*Teach, model, and reinforce independence and life skills appropriate for secondary-aged pupils preparing for the next stage of their journey.
Requirements
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a recognised degree, with evidence of ongoing professional development.

*Proven experience teaching or supporting pupils in KS3/KS4, adapting teaching for sensory, SEMH, and communication needs.

* Strong understanding of positive behaviour support, trauma-informed practice, and writing measurable IEP targets.
Even if you don’t meet every single criterion listed, if you are a resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting students and a willingness to learn, we would still love to hear from you.
