Job Description:
Job Title: UK Sales Manager
Sector: Industrial Products – B2B
Location: Hybrid Role – Based within commutable distance of Lichfield, Staffordshire (c. 3 days per week on site, UK travel as required)
Remuneration: Circa £60-70k basic + car/car allowance + bonus + benefits
The RoleAn established, growing industrial products manufacturer is seeking an experienced UK Sales Manager to lead and develop its sales function, drive strategic growth and personally win/manage key accounts across the UK.
The company has delivered consistent year-on-year growth of around 10%, with further double-digit growth forecast as recent investment in facilities, capability and headcount feeds through. This role is a key part of that next phase and offers a clear, defined career path into a Director-level position for the right person.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role. You will own the UK sales strategy, manage and develop a small but growing B2B sales team (field and internal), and remain personally active in the field securing high-value, blue-chip and major accounts across multiple industrial sectors.
You’ll be based within reach of the Burntwood/Lichfield area, typically spending around three days per week on site with your team, alongside regular UK client visits and occasional overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities*Own and deliver the UK sales strategy, setting clear commercial targets, priorities and sector focus in line with board-level growth objectives.
*Lead, manage and develop the sales team
*Personally prospect, visit and close new business, particularly larger and blue-chip accounts in target sectors.
*Drive new customer acquisition and revenue growth, focusing on medium-to-large opportunities with long-term potential rather than small transactional wins.
*Support and challenge the team on performance: coaching, setting KPIs, running pipeline reviews and ensuring high activity and conversion levels.
*Work closely with internal stakeholders (operations, supply chain, quality, customer service, finance) to ensure commercial deals are profitable, deliverable and scalable.
*Monitor market trends, competitor activity and key account performance, feeding insights into pricing, positioning and product focus.
*Provide accurate sales forecasting and reporting to the Managing Director and wider leadership, using CRM and agreed reporting frameworks.
*Play a key role in future organisational development, with the expectation that this role can evolve into a Sales Director / Commercial Director position for a high-performing individual.
Your Background*Strong B2B sales background within industrial products or related sectors, ideally in high-volume, product-led environments.
*Proven experience leading and developing sales teams (field and/or internal), ideally within an SME or mid-sized business where you’ve been close to both strategy and execution.
*Hands-on new business hunter who is still comfortable being out with customers, opening doors and closing meaningful deals (£10k–£100k+ type opportunities).
*Experience selling into major and blue-chip accounts, with a track record of opening and growing multi-site or multi-stakeholder customers.
*Strong commercial acumen: confident with pricing, margin management, negotiation and contract terms.
*Structured, organised and data-driven approach to pipeline management, forecasting and team performance.
*Credible, straightforward communicator who can engage confidently with senior decision makers as well as lead from the front with the internal team.
*Willingness to be office-present near Lichfield several days a week, with flexibility to travel and stay away across the UK when required.
*Ambition to progress to Director level and take on broader commercial responsibility as the business continues its 10%+ year-on-year growth.
What’s On Offer*Circa £60-70,000 basic salary (DOE)
*Performance-linked bonus/commission structure with strong OTE potential (indicative OTE c.£90-100k)
*Company car or car allowance plus business mileage expenses
*Private healthcare and life insurance (after qualifying period)
*Opportunity to shape the UK sales strategy and grow a team in a profitable, investing business
*Clear, structured progression path towards Sales Director / Commercial Director for a high performer who delivers results
If you are a hands-on B2B sales leader who enjoys building teams, setting strategy and still being out winning major industrial accounts, this UK Sales Manager role offers genuine scope to make your mark.
