Senior Broadcast Video Engineer (Multiplexing / Headend / IP Transport)Robert Half is supporting a global consulting firm in sourcing an experienced Senior Broadcast Video Engineer to support a major broadcast infrastructure and site exit programme.
This role is primarily focused on video/broadcast processing environments, with additional exposure to IP network transport.
Assignment Details
* Initial Duration: 3-6 months (discovery phase, likely extension)
* Location: Remote with regular on-site work in Hampshire
* Day Rate: £400-£450 p/day via Umbrella
Role Overview
You will lead the discovery, design and migration of broadcast infrastructure, working across complex and often undocumented environments. This includes identifying services, tracing dependencies and supporting the relocation of broadcast systems as part of a wider site exit programme.
Key Skills & Experience
* Strong hands-on background in broadcast engineering and video processing
* Experience with multiplexing, encoding/decoding and MPEG transport streams
* Knowledge of DVB, headend systems and broadcast distribution platforms
* Experience across satellite, cable and IP-based delivery chains
* Understanding of encryption, decryption and conditional access systems
* Exposure to IP networking (multicast, routing, switching) within broadcast environments
* Experience working in legacy environments with limited documentation
* Ability to perform detailed discovery and service mapping
* Exposure to Nimbra or similar technologies advantageous
