English Teacher (QTS) - BasingstokeProspero Teaching is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Qualified English Teacher to work on an ongoing basis at a secondary school in the Basingstoke area. This role offers stability and consistency for a teacher looking for a long-term position teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging English Language and Literature lessons, supporting pupils’ progress, and contributing to a well-structured and supportive English department. This is a great opportunity for an experienced teacher or a confident ECT looking to settle into a long-term role.
The Role:*Teach English Language and English Literature across KS3 & KS4
*Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons
*Complete marking, assessment, and feedback in line with school policies
*Support pupils of varying abilities to achieve progress
*Maintain strong behaviour management and high expectations
*Contribute to department planning and collaboration
*Create an inclusive, well-managed classroom environment
Ideal Candidate:*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) - essential
*Strong subject knowledge in English
*Experience teaching at secondary level (KS3-KS4)
*Confident delivering GCSE English (any exam board)
*Organised, reliable, and proactive
*Passionate about literacy, language, and pupil development
*Suitable for experienced teachers or ECTs

*Salary:£32,916 - £51,047 per annum

*Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:*QTS/QTLS required
*Recent English teaching experience preferred
*Safeguarding training required (can be provided)

*Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
*Two recent teaching references
