Employment Support Officer
Location: Hybrid (Office based in Chester-Le-Street)
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week) – flexible option to reduce to 32 hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen with for an exceptional Employment Support Officer to join our team.
We pride ourselves on Providing tailored employment support to individuals with a range of needs, including in some cases those furthest from the labour market. Supporting clients to overcome barriers to employment, develop skills, and progress into sustainable work through personalised action planning, coaching, and ongoing guidance.
We are looking for a passionate individual to work within our training team to liaise with candidates who may need short term support.This would include:
*Liaise with candidates to identify barriers preventing progression, including in some cases those furthest from the labour market, and develop strategies to support their next steps and career goals.
*Support candidates with uploading required documentation to employer portals and onboarding platforms, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
*Provide detailed information, advice, and guidance (IAG) to enable informed decision-making and progression into employment.
*Deliver engaging remote sessions, including Interview Techniques and other employability workshops tailored to learner needs.
*Conduct effective job search support, including sourcing opportunities and proactively engaging with employers on candidates’ behalf.
*Guide candidates through job assessments and application processes, offering tailored support to improve outcomes.
*Liaise with employers to coordinate and support induction and onboarding processes where appropriate.
*Collaborate with the Business Development Team to identify and secure suitable employment opportunities for candidates.
*Provide classroom-based support as required, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
*Research and build relationships with community organisations to support referrals, partnerships, and effective signposting for candidates.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively both verbally and in writing.
*Strong IT literacy, with confidence in using a range of digital systems and platforms.
*Proven experience supporting individuals to achieve positive outcomes.
*The ability to build rapport and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels, adapting communication styles as needed.
*A high level of attention to detail, with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
*Strong organisational, time management, and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
*A self-motivated approach, combined with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
