Job Description:
Why work with Protocol Education?
We know job hunting can feel like a full-time job in itself. That’s where we come in. At Protocol Education, we keep things simple, honest, and human. You’ll have a real person on the end of the phone who gets what you’re looking for, plus access to training, weekly pay, and roles that actually suit you, not just fill a gap. No chasing, no guesswork, just proper support from people who’ve got your back.
The role
Looking for something genuinely rewarding? This could be it.
We’re working with a welcoming school in Romford that’s on the lookout for a full-time Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs. You’ll be working closely with children who need a bit of extra guidance, patience, and encouragement to help them thrive in the classroom.
No two days are the same, but one thing’s certain, you’ll be making a real difference.
What you’ll be doing
*Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
*Helping children stay engaged, focused, and confident in their learning
*Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
*Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
*Creating a calm, structured, and supportive environment
What we’re looking for
*Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, or similar)
*A calm, patient, and positive approach
*Someone who builds trust easily and brings a steady presence to the classroom
*Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset
*A genuine passion for supporting young people
Bonus points if you have:
*Experience with autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs
*Any relevant qualifications in education or care
*Thrive training (and if not, we can help you get it )
What you’ll get from us
*Weekly pay through PAYE, no umbrella companies
*FREE access to our CPD Academy, including SEND-focused training
*Your own dedicated consultant, no call centres here
*Opportunities in local schools that value support staff
*Easy, streamlined registration
If you’re the kind of person who makes children feel safe, seen, and supported, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply now or drop us a message for a chat, no pressure, just a conversation.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Protocol Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance ’Keeping Children Safe in Education’, this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer FREE online safeguarding and Prevent Duty training to all our workers. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
