Locum Housing Disrepair Lawyer
3 months+ | Full-Time | Up to £50 per hour (Umbrella) | Midlands
Position: Locum Housing Disrepair Lawyer
Organisation: Midlands-based Local Authority
Duration: Initial 3-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension
Working Pattern: Full-Time
Working Arrangement: Predominately remote working. Occasional court or office attendance may be required.
Rate: Up to £50 per hour (Umbrella)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Locum Housing Disrepair Lawyer to join a Midlands-based Local Authority on an interim basis.
The successful candidate will have prior experience working within a Local Authority environment and demonstrable expertise in Housing Litigation, with a particular focus on Housing Disrepair matters.
Key Responsibilities:
*Conduct all aspects of legal work relating to Housing Disrepair matters
*Manage a caseload of disrepair claims through all stages of pre-litigation and litigation
*Ensure compliance with the Housing Disrepair Pre-Action Protocol
*Represent the Council in court and undertake advocacy where appropriate
*Negotiate and draft complex and sensitive legal agreements and documentation
*Assess evidence, advise on prospects of success, and provide clear case strategy
*Act in accordance with public interest considerations when progressing cases
Requirements:
*Previous experience working within a Local Authority or Housing Associations
*Strong knowledge of Housing Disrepair and Housing Litigation
*Ability to work autonomously in a locum setting
