Construction Quality Manager
Location: Manchester
Job Type: Temporary, Ongoing
Day Rate: £375 per day
We are seeking a Construction Quality Manager to be the primary on-site contact for our client a leading social housing provider. You will ensure that construction projects are executed to the highest standards. This role involves overseeing the construction process from initial drawings and specifications through to completion, ensuring all aspects meet exemplary standards.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Act as the main point of contact on site, ensuring construction adheres to required issue drawings and specifications.
*Provide buildability advice during RIBA stages 1 to 4 and manage all construction elements during RIBA stage 5, ensuring a safe, defect-free handover.
*Ensure the end-built product complies with all standards and exhibits top quality.
*Manage relationships with all third parties involved in the construction process, including the Housing Association, Sales Progression, and Customer Quality.
*Oversee the supply chain and maintain strategic partner relationships.
*Coordinate the identification, analysis, and management of project requirements throughout its lifecycle.
*Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies, identifying and mitigating risks.
*Plan and coordinate testing and inspections, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
*Develop work schedules to meet commitments, managing resources and budget effectively.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Significant experience in the construction industry, particularly in apartment construction and house building.
*Deep knowledge of build materials, build sequence, and local supply chains.
*Proven ability to work on complex, multi-dimensional projects within a large construction organisation.
*Strong judgement and decision-making skills based on evidence and analysis.
*Experience in managing risks, issues, and dependencies within complex programmes.
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and customers.
*Demonstrated interest in the business and commitment to customer service.
*Unwavering commitment to health and safety standards.
*Degree in a relevant field; chartered status in a construction-related institution is preferred.
