Job Title: Data & Reporting Analyst (SQL Technical Consultant – Finance Systems)

We are seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Data & Reporting Analyst with strong SQL and technical consulting skills to support and enhance our finance and accounting software solutions for small to medium-sized businesses. This role combines data analysis, reporting, and client-facing technical support to deliver accurate insights and system improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
*Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, analyse, and manipulate financial data
*Design, build, and maintain reports and data outputs for business users
*Analyse financial and operational data to provide meaningful insights to clients
*Support clients with data-related queries, troubleshooting issues, and resolving discrepancies
*Provide technical consulting on system configuration, data structures, and reporting capabilities
*Work closely with customers to understand their reporting needs and translate them into effective data solutions
*Assist with implementation and onboarding of new clients, including data setup and validation
*Investigate and resolve system or data issues, ensuring accuracy and reliability
*Collaborate with internal teams to improve system performance and reporting functionality
*Maintain clear documentation for queries, reports, and support processes
Required Skills & Experience:
*Strong SQL skills (query writing, joins, data manipulation)
*Proven experience in data analysis and reporting
*Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex datasets
*Background in technical support, application support, or consulting
*Understanding of accounting principles (e.g. ledgers, invoicing, financial reporting) is highly desirable
*Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
*Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain data and technical concepts to non-technical users
Key Attributes:
*Detail-oriented and highly organised
*Client-focused with a proactive approach to problem-solving
*Able to balance technical work with customer interaction
*Curious and driven to continuously improve reporting and data processes
