Import Coordinator – Ocean Freight
*Annual Salary: Up to £35,000
*Location: Basildon
*Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Join a well established freight forwarding business specialising in ocean freight imports. We are seeking an experienced Import Coordinator ocean freight import movements from start to finish, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently, compliantly, and to a high customer service standard.
Day-to-day of the role:
*End-to-end coordination of ocean freight import consignments.
*Liaising with global shipping lines, agents, and customers.
*Completing import documentation including Bills of Lading and customs paperwork.
*Monitoring shipments and proactively managing delays or issues.
*Ensuring compliance with customs regulations and company procedures.
*Providing clear and timely updates to customers.
*Using freight management systems to maintain accurate records.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in ocean freight imports (essential).
*Strong understanding of import documentation and customs processes.
*Excellent communication and organisational skills.
*Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.
*Customer-focused with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
*Experience using freight or logistics systems is advantageous.
