HGV Class 2 Driver (Category C) – Temp to Perm
Location: Bicester Banbury or Oxford
Salary: £17.50 – £22.00 per hour + Holiday Accrual + Pension (PAYE)
Job Type: Full-time | Temp to Perm (12 weeks)
Job Overview
We are currently recruiting HGV Class 2 (Category C) Drivers for immediate starts in Bicester. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers seeking ongoing work with a clear pathway to a permanent position.
You will be working for a well-established distribution operation, delivering food products to a range of hospitality clients including restaurants and fast-food outlets.
Key Responsibilities
*Multi-drop deliveries (typically 3–8 drops per shift)
*Delivery of:
*Fresh produce
*Frozen goods
*Meat and dairy products
*Manual handling and handballing using a pump truck
*Unloading and placing goods into appropriate storage areas (chilled, frozen, ambient)
*Completing all deliveries accurately and within scheduled times
*Carrying out daily vehicle checks and adhering to all driver compliance and safety regulations
*Securing delivery sites (full training provided for keys and alarm systems)
Shift Patterns
*Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday
*Start times between 00:30 and 06:00
*Average shift length: up to 12 hours
Requirements
*Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
*Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
*Minimum 1 year Class 2 driving experience
*No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)
*Good level of physical fitness (due to manual handling requirements)
*Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
*Strong understanding of UK driver hours and regulations
