CNC Lathe Operator
*Leeds, LS9
*Full Time, Permanent (Part Time considered)

Our client is a small manufacturing business specialising in plastics. They are looking for a skilled Lathe Operator to join their team.
You will set up, run, and maintain lathes to produce precision parts. This role would suit someone with hands-on mechanical experience and knowledge of fabrication and materials handling.
You should have good technical knowledge and be able to read technical drawings to produce high-quality work. The role offers a competitive salary and a chance to develop your skills in a practical working environment.
Responsibilities
*Set up lathes using technical drawings and programme details, making sure tooling and settings are correct.
*Operate machines safely and efficiently while following quality standards.
*Monitor machines and make adjustments to keep production accurate and efficient.
*Carry out basic machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication and fault finding.
*Read CAD drawings and use hand tools for small adjustments or assembly work.
*Handle materials safely and store and move them correctly around the workshop.
*Keep accurate records of production, including timings, faults, and maintenance.
*Work with the team to improve processes and productivity.
You will have:
*Previous experience operating lathes in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
*Understanding of fabrication techniques, tooling, and materials handling processes.
*Familiarity with PLCs and CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar.
*Ability to use hand tools and basic maths for measurements and calculations.
*Ability to read technical drawings and work independently while following safety rules.
Warehouse or materials handling experience, and knowledge of milling, welding, assembly and general mechanical work would all be a plus.
